The announcement of the nominees for the 34th Seoul Music Awards on March 25 has sparked a wave of anger and disappointment among BTS' dedicated ARMY, particularly regarding the exclusion of V (Kim Taehyung) from the nominations.

Fans are expressing their shock and frustration over the fact that V, despite meeting the eligibility criteria for multiple categories, did not receive a single nomination. This has left fans baffled, as his recent work was met with success and recognition on various global charts.

The Seoul Music Awards, which considered music released between January 2024 and March 2025, based their nominations on data from Circle Chart, a well-regarded music chart tracking performance and influence.

The intention was to recognise the most impactful artists of the year. However, BTS ARMY is questioning the decision not to include V’s solo tracks, including his hit song Fri(end)s, which performed well on Billboard and iTunes, as well as his collaboration with Park Hyo Shin, Winter Ahead.

Both of these tracks, released in March and November 2024 respectively, were in line with the eligibility criteria, yet they were seemingly overlooked in favour of other BTS members. Fans of the group, including those who support V's individual artistry, have pointed out the stark contrast in nominations.

Members like Jin, RM, Jimin, and Jungkook received multiple nominations, further fuelling their frustration.

The exclusion of V has led many fans to speculate that his absence might be the result of a "deliberate disregard" for his work, deeming it "outrageous" and "unacceptable."

Some fans have even taken to social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) to accuse HYBE, BTS' agency, of failing to properly promote V’s solo music.

One fan voiced their anger, stating, "Taehyung is the BTS member that the company hurts the most. I hope Korean fans are watching this and don't stop shouting loudly... this company needs to respect Taehyung's work." The overwhelming sentiment from fans is that "V DESERVES BETTER."
