Hindi filmmakers are gearing up for some of the most-awaited sequels. However, some of the big projects, including Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's blockbuster hit Brahmastra 2, are already in the scripting stage.
According to Pinkvilla reports, the sequels to Brahmastra, Luka Chuppi and Garam Masala are on the cards. The reports have suggested that filmmaker Ayan Mukerji has hired a fresh writing team to work on Brahmastra 2.
Meanwhile, Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai and Kick fame writer Rajat Arora will pen the dialogues for the film. The upcoming sequel is expected to hit the theatres in 2026. However, the makers have yet to reveal who will play Dev opposite Deepika Padukone’s Amrita.
However, Ayan has already locked his second project. A source has told the outlet that the filmmaker will move to his next venture, Dhoom 4, soon after wrapping up War 2. Dhoom 4 will feature Ranbir Kapoor in the pivotal role.
The source said, “Work on Brahmastra will continue in tandem, but he will direct Dhoom 4 after War 2.”
Meanwhile, Laxman Utekar’s directorial 2019 hit Luka Chuppi sequel is also in the making. The film is currently in the writing stage. Produced by Dinesh Vijan, the upcoming sequel will be helmed by one of Laxman’s associates.

The casting of Luka Chuppi 2 is expected to begin in late 2026. The upcoming sequel is likely to introduce a supernatural twist this time around.
However, fans’ wait would be soon over as Akshay Kumar and John Abraham's starrer Garam Masala 2 is also under pre-production. Director Abhishek Sharma is reportedly working on a script for 'Garam Masala 2', a comedy film with two lead heroes, in the same zany style as the 2005 original.
