After getting his first National Award, Vikrant Massey celebrated Diwali with wife Sheetal Thakur and son Vardaan. He shared a sweet photo and later his wife Sheetal shared many pics from their special Diwali.
The couple, now new parents, shared a warm and intimate glimpse into their festive celebrations, and it was every bit as heartfelt as you’d expect.
Taking to Instagram, Vikrant posted a picture that immediately struck a chord with everyone. Captioned playfully, “Happy Daabliiii from us to you!!!”, the post showed the couple with their baby boy — all smiles, waving to the camera, bathed in soft festive lights on their balcony decorated with marigolds.
Vikrant, dressed in a simple white kurta-pyjama, looked content and at ease. Sheetal looked effortlessly elegant in an orange-gold pallu and a rust-red saree. And of course, their little one stole the show in a tiny printed blue kurta, his curious smile lighting up the frame.
The image quickly became a fan-favourite, with social media lighting up in response. Hearts, diyas, and blessings flooded the comments section. “The cutest family,” wrote one user, while others simply called it “pure love.”
Sheetal shared many pictures from the Diwali celebrations. The décor, kids, parents all were there in the special pics.
This Diwali held extra meaning — it was their first as parents. Vikrant and Sheetal, who married in February 2022, welcomed their son earlier this year. And just as life was blossoming at home, Vikrant’s professional life also saw a massive milestone.
The actor recently received the National Award for Best Actor for his standout performance in 12th Fail, sharing the honour with Shah Rukh Khan (Jawan).
With obvious humility, Vikrant accepted the award from President Droupadi Murmu while wearing a traditional white Bandhgala. It was a significant turning point in his career, from television to films, from minor parts to widespread acclaim.
The occasion was made even more memorable by the fact that Vidhu Vinod Chopra's film 12th Fail won Best Film. As he reflected on his own experience at the awards, Chopra shared a heartwarming moment from 1977, when he won his first national award for Murder at Monkey Hill. He said, "See, from there to here, it's my life — it's 12th Fail."
