Veteran actor Sudhir Dalvi, who gained popularity for playing Sai Baba in the 1990s, is in the hospital and suffering from sepsis, a serious illness.
The veteran actor has reportedly been admitted to the Lilavati Hospital since the first week of October. The 86-year-old actor’s family is struggling to keep up with rising medical costs.
Ranbir Kapoor’s sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni has chimed in for help. She is one of the first people to voice their support after the paparazzi page shared the news on social media.
The 86-year-old actor has been admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital since October 8, 2025, according to the page. He is critically ill and undergoing treatment for severe sepsis, a potentially fatal infection.
Meanwhile, reports suggested that the medical costs have already surpassed Rs 10 lakh and may increase to Rs 15 lakh as treatment progresses. The movie business and the actor's admirers have been asked to provide financial support by Sudhir Dalvi's family.
However, Riddhima took to the comment section and responded to the post. She donated and wished Dalvi strength and recovery. She commented, “Done wishing him a speedy recovery.”
Despite the genuine cause, she received backlash for mentioning on social media. One user criticised her, writing, “Why did u mention here if you have helped… footage chahiye?"
Riddhima didn’t hold back the criticism and firmly clapped back at the comment, writing, “Everything in life is not about optics– Helping someone in need and in whatever capacity you can is the biggest blessing."
