
Actor Ranveer Singh received a threatening WhatsApp voice note on Tuesday, February 10, in which the sender allegedly demanded crores from him. Following the incident, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have reportedly increased security outside their residence, deploying armed personnel to ensure safety.
According to a report by Hindustan Times, an official letter from the housing society where the actor couple resides has been submitted to the Dadar Police Station. The letter revealed that Ranveer and Deepika had deployed armed security personnel outside their home.
As mentioned in the letter cited by the publication, the couple stationed six armed security guards without seeking ‘permission’ from the Society Managing Committee. In addition to this, one uniformed police personnel has also been posted outside their residence.
The Society Managing Committee, however, raised ‘serious concern’ regarding the safety and comfort of other residents in the complex.
The letter noted that armed personnel were seen moving with weapons in common areas such as the lobby, gymnasium, and children’s play area. The committee has urged the police to verify the situation and clarify whether any official permission had been granted for the deployment of armed guards.

Meanwhile, as per reports by India Today, Ranveer Singh informed the Mumbai Police immediately after receiving the extortion threat. Following his complaint, security outside his residence was swiftly enhanced as a precautionary measure.
The Mumbai Police have since initiated an investigation into the matter and are currently working to trace the individual who sent the threatening voice note. Further updates are awaited as the probe remains ongoing.
