As relatives, friends, and entertainment industry professionals gathered to honour the late actor Pankaj Dheer on Friday, October 17, a wave of love and remembrance rushed over Mumbai's ISKCON Temple, Juhu.
After a protracted fight with cancer, the veteran star, who is most known for playing Karna in B.R. Chopra's Mahabharat, passed away on October 15, 2025.
Held from 5 to 6 p.m., the prayer meeting was a poignant event characterised by peaceful dignity and sincere remembrances. When Pankaj's wife and daughter-in-law, Kritika Dheer, arrived hand in hand wearing white, a moving scene took place.
In a moment that perfectly captured the family's fortitude and solidarity in mourning, Kritika was seen tenderly holding her mother-in-law as they entered the temple.
The ceremony drew several familiar faces from the film and television fraternity, each coming to pay their last respects to a man widely loved for his warmth and humility.
Abhishek Bachchan was also seen returning after attending the prayer.
Actress Poonam Dhillon was seen arriving in a beige suit, offering her condolences.
The original Shaktimaan, Mukesh Khanna, along with Karanveer Bohra, also attended, dressed in traditional white attire.
Actor Sourabh Raaj Jain, who has often credited Pankaj Dheer as an inspiration, was also present at the solemn gathering.
The invitation note, shared by the Dheer, Shah, Sengar, and Khanna families, read:
“We gather to remember Shri Pankaj Dheer, celebrating the life of a remarkable soul whose love, laughter, and wisdom continue to guide us.”
Those words beautifully captured the spirit of a man whose kindness extended far beyond the screen.
