On November 12, Sunny Deol’s team issued an official statement confirming that Dharmendra had been discharged. The statement read, “Mr. Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home. We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time. We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you.”

Dharmendra, who is 89, was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital after experiencing difficulty in breathing. Soon after, reports began circulating online claiming that he had been put on ventilator support, and some media outlets even went as far as announcing his death prematurely.

His daughter, Esha Deol, stepped in to shut down the rumours through a social media post, writing, “The media seems to be in over-drive and spreading false news. My father is stable and recovering. We request everyone to give our family privacy.”

Meanwhile, his wife Hema Malini strongly condemned the false death reports, calling them “unforgivable.” She criticised irresponsible media channels for spreading such news about someone “who is responding to treatment and is recovering.”

Dharmendra, one of Bollywood’s most adored stars, has had a remarkable career spanning over six decades. Loved by audiences of all ages, he remains a legendary figure in Indian cinema.
