South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron was found dead at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on February 16, 2025. She was 24 years old. According to Koreaheraled.com, a friend discovered her body around 4:50 pm local time after Kim failed to appear for a scheduled meeting. Police are investigating the cause of death but have found no signs of foul play.
Kim Sae-ron began her acting career at the age of nine, gaining recognition for her roles in films such as A Brand New Life (2009) and The Man From Nowhere (2010). She also starred in television dramas including Listen to My Heart (2011), The Queen's Classroom (2013), and Hi! School-Love On (2014). Her most recent appearance was in the 2023 Netflix series Bloodhounds.
In May 2022, Kim was involved in a drunk driving incident in Seoul's Gangnam District, which led to significant public scrutiny and a fine of 20 million won. Following the incident, she retreated from the public eye and faced challenges in resuming her acting career.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
