Payal Kapadia's All We Imagine As Light is making noise for all the right reasons. After shining bright at Cannes Film Festival, the film has bagged two nominations at the Golden Globes 2025. The film will compete in Best Motion Picture - (Non-English Language) category. Payal Kapadia's has scripted history with its second nomination in the Best Direction (Motion Picture) category.

While we wait with bated breath for the mail Golden Globe event and its results, let us rewind to 2023 when SS Rajamouli's epic blockbuster RRR achieved a significant milestone by bagging two prestigious nominations at the Golden Globes, ultimately clinching one of the coveted awards. The film, which captivated audiences worldwide with its grandeur, storytelling, and stellar performances, set new benchmarks for Indian cinema on the global stage.

At the Golden Globes 2023, RRR was nominated in two major categories: Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language and Best Original Song – Motion Picture. Competing against some of the finest international films, RRR stood out for its compelling storytelling and the rich cultural tapestry it presented. The nomination in the Best Original Song category was for the electrifying track Naatu Naatu, composed by MM Keeravani, which became a global sensation.

The highlight of the night was when Naatu Naatu won the award for Best Original Song – Motion Picture, making history as one of the few Indian songs to achieve such a distinction. This win not only brought immense pride to the RRR team but also marked a significant moment for Indian cinema on the international stage.

After receiving the award, an emotional MM Keeravani said, "Thank you very much for this prestigious award. I am just very overwhelmed and I am very happy to share this moment with my wife who is sitting right there. It has been a practice to say that this award belongs to someone else and not me, but I am going to break that." In his speech, the composer also thanked Junior NTR and Ram Charan who danced to this song.
