AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY trailer may arrive much earlier than expected: Report

For weeks, the general belief among fans was that the first Avengers: Doomsday trailer would be attached to James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash when it hits theaters on December 19. That timeline felt safe, predictable and in line with how Marvel usually moves. Now it seems the studio might be preparing to spring a surprise.

A new rumor making the rounds suggests the trailer could drop far sooner than anyone expected. Alex Perez from The Cosmic Circus, along with a few other online insiders, claims that Marvel is gearing up to release the Avengers: Doomsday trailer this Sunday, December 7 at 7 pm ET. That’s 4 pm PT and just past midnight for BST viewers. If true, Marvel is about to break its own pattern.

There’s another interesting breadcrumb. CBM points out that ever since The Fantastic Four: First Steps was in theaters, Marvel Studios has been sharing the same Sunday-evening clip on its social channels. The clip shows Marvel’s First Family sitting down for a family dinner. It’s a harmless little promotional moment, but here’s the odd part: Marvel has continued posting it long after the film’s theatrical run, its digital release, its Blu-ray, and its arrival on Disney+.

This is where the speculation gets fun. Doctor Doom, the central villain of Avengers: Doomsday, is deeply tied to the Fantastic Four. The First Steps post-credit scene even showed Doom with baby Franklin, setting up his next major appearance. If Doom interrupts that familiar Sunday dinner moment with the first footage from Doomsday, it would feel intentional, thematic and very Marvel.

The big question is whether Marvel would really choose a Sunday night for a trailer drop of this scale. It’s not their usual slot, and late-night releases risk missing global engagement.
