Alia Bhatt’s recent remarks about her upcoming movie Alpha have sparked a lively debate across social media. During her appearance at the Gucci Spring/Summer 2026 show at Milan Fashion Week, the actor described Alpha, slated for release on December 25, 2025, as her “first action film.”
What seemed like a simple statement quickly turned into a talking point, with fans and critics reminding her of earlier projects that featured heavy action sequences.
Alia Bhatt, who attended the Milan event as Gucci’s global brand ambassador, expressed excitement about the YRF spy-universe project directed by Shiv Rawail and co-starring Sharvari and Bobby Deol. Reflecting on her role, she said, “Wow, it’s pretty close. That’s a big one for me because it’s my first venture into action, and I’m really curious to see how the audience connects with that.”
Her comments, however, didn’t sit well with many. Users pointed out that Bhatt had already been part of films like Jigra and the Netflix Hollywood release Heart of Stone, both of which showcased her in action-oriented roles. Some argued that even movies like Kalank and Sadak 2 had portions that leaned into action drama. Social media was flooded with sarcastic remarks, memes, and Reddit threads questioning why the actor seemed to dismiss her earlier filmography.
One user commented, “It was an action film, Alia. And both tanked bad,” while another wrote, “Alia has deleted Shaandar, Sadak, Kalank, Jigra, and Heart of Stone from her memory.” Others joked that after Alpha releases, she might conveniently forget it as well.

Despite the online chatter, excitement around Alpha remains strong. The film is part of YRF’s growing spy universe, placing Bhatt alongside major stars who have previously headlined the franchise. In addition, the actor has another high-profile project lined up: Love & War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, expected in 2026.
While the debate over what counts as her “first action film” continues, Bhatt seems focused on pushing her boundaries as a performer. Whether fans agree with her framing or not, Alpha is shaping up to be a key career milestone.
