One of the most memorable moments of the evening was when Mohanlal shared a warm hug with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

Veteran Malayalam actor Mohanlal was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest recognition in Indian cinema, during the 71st National Film Awards 2025 held on September 23.

One of the most memorable moments of the evening was when Mohanlal shared a warm hug with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

A picture went viral on social media and featured three iconic actors, including Shah Rukh Khan, Mohanlal, and Rani Mukerji, in one frame. The picture instantly grabbed everyone's attention.

In the photo, Rani, who had just won her first National Award, was standing close by, grinning at the heartwarming moment as SRK and Mohanlal gave each other a passionate hug.

Social media users praised the actors and their well-earned awards as soon as they posted the picture.

Shah Rukh Khan's portrayal in Atlee's Jawan earned him the Best Actor prize at the National Film Awards, while Rani Mukerji's performance in Ashima Chibber's Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway earned her the Best Actress honour.

In honour of his contributions to film since his 1980 debut, Mohanlal was given the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
