The actor, who has been vocal about seeking justice for the victim, shared her ordeal on social media, tagging the Kolkata Police's cyber cell department for their attention.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Mimi expressed her shock and dismay, writing, “And we are demanding justice for women right? These are just a few of them. Where rape threats have been normalized by venomous men masking themselves in the crowd saying they stand by women. What upbringing and education permits this????"

Mimi's post quickly garnered support from her fans, who flooded the comments section with messages of solidarity. One fan demanded swift action, writing, "Get these two B.....ds arrested and castrated," while another commended her bravery, stating, "Thank you for having the courage to share this. People having internet does not mean they can say whatever they want. They need education first, and after getting punishment, they will learn..."

In addition to her social media activism, Mimi also took part in a physical protest against the brutal rape and murder of a young doctor in Kolkata. The protest, which took place on the night of August 14, saw the participation of several prominent figures from the Bengali film industry, including actors Riddhi Sen, Arindam Sil, and Madhumita Sarcar.
