Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan received his Best Actor National Film Award for the film Jawan.
The actor, who was seen in black bandhgala, was all smiles as he walked on the stage to collect his first National Film Award from President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday (September 23).
Shah Rukh Khan shared the Best Actor National Film Award with actor Vikrant Massey, for his film 12h Fail. The movie directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra has earned accolades for its nuanced performance by Massey.
Vikrant Massey will be sharing the podium with SRK as both the actors receive the Best Actor Award.
The Best Actor awardee receives a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh along with the Svarn Kamal. But this time, since the Best Actor award is being shared by two people, the prize money will be distributed equally between SRK and Vikrant.
As a result SRK and Vikrant will receive a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh each.
Talking about SRK, he has been in the industry for over three decades and he is also called the King of Romance with superhits like Dilwale Duhaniya Le Jayenge, Dil Se, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, My Name Is Khan, Devdas, Swades to name a few from his endless list.
Currently, the actor is shooting for his upcoming movie King with daughter Suhana Khan and Deepika Padukone in Poland. The superstar returned today from Poland to receive the award in person.
Along with SRK, his close friend and co-star Rani Mukerji also received her Best Actress, National Award .
The ceremony was attended by all the awardees.
