PM Narendra Modi tenders resignation, likely to take oath on June 8

Stating that his party firmly supports the NDA, Paswan said that the third term under PM Modi will take the country to new heights and fulfill all the promises that have been made regarding development.

After the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance attained a narrow majority on June 4, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today tendered resignation. He is likely to take oath for the third time as  Prime Minister on June 8. Additionally, members of the new cabinet are also expected tp be sworn in on Saturday, reports news agency ANI.

The outcome of the 2024 parliamentary polls was declared on June 4. The Bharatiya Janata party fell short of the majority figure of 272, necessitating unconditional support from its allies.

The INDIA bloc parties collectively gained 104 seats while the NDA lost 49 seats as compared to the 2019 tally. The NDA’s tally currently stands at 294 seats while that of INDIA is at 231, as per the ECI trends and results.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is scheduled to meet in Delhi today, a day after the Lok Sabha Election results 2024.

The meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar will be present at the NDA meet in Delhi, news agency PTI reported quoting sources.

The Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United) and the BJP both won 12 seats in Bihar. Not only this, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan said that his party will take part in this meeting.
