2024 Lok Sabha election in Chhattisgarh.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been a significant political force in Chhattisgarh, particularly in recent years. While the Congress has historically had a strong presence in the state, the BJP has gradually gained ground and emerged as a formidable competitor.

In the 2003 Chhattisgarh Assembly elections, the BJP emerged as the single largest party with 50 seats but fell short of an absolute majority in the 90-member assembly. To form the government, the BJP forged a post-poll alliance with the Chhattisgarh Swabhiman Manch (CSM), which won one seat. Raman Singh became the Chief Minister, marking the beginning of BJP's 15-year rule in the state.

Under Raman Singh's leadership, the BJP government focused on infrastructure development, industrial growth, and improving law and order. The administration introduced several welfare schemes aimed at addressing the needs of the people, particularly in rural areas.

The BJP continued its dominance in Chhattisgarh politics for three consecutive terms until the 2018 Assembly elections when the Congress staged a comeback and formed the government with a decisive majority.

In 2023, it surged back to power once again, winning 53 of the 90 seats in the Assembly elections, and selecting Vishnu Deo Sai as the Chief Minister.
