In a strong indication of failing talks between the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party, the AAP today announced a list of 20 candidates for the upcoming Haryana polls.
Among the big names in the first list are Anurag Dhandha from Kalayat, Vikas Nehra from Meham and Bijender Hooda from Rohtak. The last date for filing nominations for the Haryana election is September 12. The polling for the assembly election is scheduled for October 5 and the outcome will be declared on October 8.
Earlier today, Haryana'a AAP Chief Sushil Gupta has sounded the alarm bells for the prospective electoral alliance with the Congress for the assembly election. Gupta said that if they don't receive any news from the high command about the alliance formation during the day, then the party will release the list of candidates for all 90 seats in the Haryana Assembly.
Gupta further emphasised the fact that the AAP is fully prepared to contest in all 90 seats in the polls and it is just a matter of time before they will announce the names of candidates who will contest in the election.
The talks between two sides have been stuck over the number of seats to be contested by AAP, with the party demanding 10 seats and the Congress offering 5. The Congress on Friday released its first list of 32 candidates for the upcoming Assembly election in Haryana, fielding Olympic wrestler Vinesh Phogat from the Julana constituency, besides former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi. Subsequently, the party on Sunday, released its second list of nine candidates.
