In Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV), summer breaks range from May 2 to June 20 or May 9 to June 17, depending on regional variations.

Officials have cautioned that reopening dates are subject to change due to extreme heat or other administrative reasons. In states like UP and Bihar, the vacation may even extend into early July if temperatures remain dangerously high.

In Tamil Nadu, Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi has indicated that reopening dates may be adjusted further based on recommendations from the climate management committee. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast an early monsoon in Kerala starting May 27, which could influence the school calendar in southern states.
