The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) will close the extended registration window for Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) recruitment today, May 19. Interested candidates must submit their applications on the official portal, rrbapply.gov.in, before the deadline.

The RRB aims to fill 9,970 ALP vacancies this year. The registration process, which began earlier, was initially set to conclude on May 11 but was extended to May 19 to accommodate more applicants. The fee payment window will also close today, while the correction facility will be available from May 22 to May 31, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed 10th grade along with ITI certification in relevant trades OR a three-year engineering diploma/degree in the specified field.
• Age Limit: Applicants should be between 18 and 30 years as of July 1, 2025. Age relaxations apply—5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates.
• Medical Standards: Strict vision requirements are in place—6/6 distant vision and 0.6 near vision without glasses. Those with significantly weak eyesight are ineligible.

The recruitment process consists of four stages:

• First Stage CBT (Computer-Based Test)
• Second Stage CBT
• Computer-Based Aptitude Test
• Document Verification & Medical Examination

Unlike last year's recruitment, no age relaxation has been provided beyond standard reservations. Candidates from trades such as Fitter, Electrician, Mechanic, and Refrigeration & AC Mechanic are eligible to apply.
