The Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) Mains Examination 2024-25 began on June 17 across multiple centres in the state, despite ongoing protests from a section of aspirants. The exam is being held under strict security arrangements and will continue until June 18. Candidates appeared for the first session from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The second session is scheduled from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
Protests Continue Amid Exam
Several aspirants have been demanding a postponement of the exam for the past week. Their main concern is that the final result of the RAS 2023 cycle has not been declared yet. They argue that the current Mains exam should not be held before the earlier cycle is completed.
Despite the protests and public appeals, the RPSC decided to conduct the exam as per schedule. Admit cards were released on June 14, confirming the commission’s decision to move ahead.
RPSC’s Response
In response to the protests, the RPSC filed a caveat in the Rajasthan High Court. The caveat states that no interim relief should be granted without first hearing the Commission's side. This move was made in anticipation of potential legal challenges to the conduct of the Mains exam.
Exam Day Guidelines
Candidates must bring their original Aadhar card (colour print) for verification. If the photo is unclear or old, they must carry another valid ID such as a driving licence, passport, or voter ID card with a recent colour photo. Entry to the exam hall is strictly prohibited after the cut-off reporting time.
The RPSC has so far not indicated any change in schedule or response to the protests' demands. With the Mains exam underway, the focus now shifts to the smooth conduct of the remaining sessions and the timeline for the final result.
