The Supreme Court of India has issued an interim order restraining the state of Karnataka from declaring the results of the half-yearly examinations for classes 8, 9, and 10 in all districts until further notice.
The decision comes in response to a petition filed by concerned parents and students challenging the abrupt conduct of these examinations in certain districts of Karnataka. The petitioners argued that the exams were being held in regions with porous borders, raising concerns about potential irregularities and unfairness.
Following the Supreme Court's directive, Madhu Bangarappa, the Minister of School Education and Literacy, announced on Friday (October 18) that the notification regarding the half-yearly exams had been rescinded. This decision effectively halted the process of conducting and evaluating these examinations.
