JEE Main 2026 Result

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially declared the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026 Session 1 results. Candidates who appeared for the computer-based tests held in January can now download their official scorecards from the authorized portals.

The moment of truth has arrived for thousands of engineering aspirants across the country. Confirming its earlier announcement on X (formerly Twitter), the NTA has released the JEE Main 2026 result for Session 1 today, February 16, 2026.

Students who participated in the examination conducted between January 21 and 29, 2026, can now access their subject-wise marks and overall percentiles. While there was initial speculation regarding a February 12 release, the agency officially updated the schedule to today's date.

Details Mentioned on the JEE Main 2026 Scorecard

Candidates need to verify every piece of information on the scorecard. In case of any discrepancy, students must contact the NTA helpdesk immediately. The document will include:

Candidate’s Full Name and Roll Number

Application Number

Marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics

Total NTA Score (Percentile)

Qualifying status for JEE Advanced 2026

Category Rank (GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, if applicable)

What’s Next? JEE Advanced 2026 Qualification

A major highlight of the JEE Main results is the gateway it provides to the next level. As per the standard admission criteria, only the top 2.5 lakh candidates (those securing a rank under 2.5 lakh) in Paper-I (B.E./B.Tech.) will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2026. This exam is the sole gateway for admission into the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

Second Chance: JEE Main Session 2 Exam 2026

For candidates who feel they could not perform up to their potential in Session 1, the NTA offers a valuable second opportunity. The JEE Main Session 2 Exam 2026 is scheduled to be conducted from April 2 to 9, 2026.

Importantly, the application window for Session 2 is still open. Interested candidates must submit their forms by February 25, 2026. It is crucial to note that the final ranking for admission will consider the best of the two scores (Session 1 and Session 2), making it beneficial for all aspirants to attempt the second session.

While the official percentile cut-offs for admission will be finalized after Session 2 results, students can look at previous trends for a reality check. For reference, the General category cut-off in 2025 stood at 93.10 percentile.

Candidates are strongly advised to rely solely on the official NTA website for updates. The direct result link is now active on jeemain.nta.nic.in.
