“Skill development is not just about employment; it is about empowering individuals to contribute meaningfully to society,” he said, highlighting the government’s initiatives under Skill India Mission and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The Prime Minister pointed out that while traditional education is essential, practical skills hold immense value in today’s rapidly evolving job market. He urged students to focus on acquiring skills that align with future industry demands.
“If our youth are equipped with the right skills, they will not only secure better careers but also drive India’s progress on the global stage,” he remarked.
PM Modi’s interest in skill development is deeply rooted in his governance approach. Under his leadership, India has witnessed the launch of several initiatives aimed at enhancing vocational training and entrepreneurship, such as Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS).
He emphasized that skill-based education should be integrated into mainstream academics, enabling students to gain practical knowledge alongside theoretical learning.
PM Modi encouraged students to take up vocational training and skill-based courses, irrespective of their academic background. He urged parents and educators to recognize the importance of skills beyond conventional education and support students in pursuing their interests.
