The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee will close the registration process for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025, without a late fee, today, September 26. Those interested in pursuing postgraduate studies in engineering or related fields can submit their applications online at the official GATE 2025 website: gate2025.iitr.ac.in.

IIT Roorkee will conduct the GATE 2025 exams on February 1st, 2nd, 15th, and 16th of 2025. The GATE exam serves as a crucial gateway to Master's programs at prestigious institutions like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru, and numerous other participating universities across India.

Students currently enrolled in the third year (or higher) of a bachelor's degree program in engineering, technology, science, or other relevant fields, or those who have already completed a recognized degree in these subjects, are eligible to apply for GATE 2025. This includes students pursuing undergraduate degrees from institutions outside India.

Step 2. Locate and click the registration link on the homepage.

Step 3. Carefully fill out the required details in the online application form.

Step 4. Upload the necessary documents as instructed by the website.

Step 5. Pay the applicable application fee using the provided online payment gateway.

Step 6. Submit the completed application form and download the confirmation page for your records.

The application fee for GATE 2025 varies based on the candidate’s category and the time of submission. For female candidates, SC, ST, and PwD applicants, the fee is Rs. 900 per paper during the regular application period, which lasts until today, while a late fee of Rs. 1,400 will apply after October 7, 2024. For all other candidates, including international applicants, the fee is Rs. 1,800 per paper during the regular period, and Rs. 2,300 will be charged after the late fee deadline.
