Over 13.4 lakh candidates registered for the Common University Entrance Test, Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2024 exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
This year, CUET-UG will be completed within seven days and conducted in a single shift to avoid such complications. Of the 63 subjects tested, 15 will be administered in pen-and-paper format and the remaining 48 will utilize a computer-based testing format.
Below is the CUET analysis by Amitendra Kumar, Assistant Vice President, Career Launcher:
1) Chemistry
Based on the preliminary feedback provided by students, the CUET Chemistry paper was perceived to be marginally more challenging than the preceding year. On the whole, the examination proved to be demanding.
Organic Chemistry:
The inquiries in this section were generally uncomplicated and addressed fundamental principles such as the Friedel-Crafts reaction, various solution types, and organic reactions.
Physical Chemistry:
Queries ranged from straightforward to moderately challenging, encompassing fundamental concepts like stoichiometry, electrochemistry, osmotic pressure, vapour pressure, reaction kinetics, electrolysis, and reaction order.
Inorganic Chemistry:
Questions spanned from straightforward to moderately challenging, delving into electrophilic aromatic substitution, the Etard reaction, complexes of transition metals, ionization enthalpy, oxidation states, and properties specific to lanthanides and actinides. Topics also included sigma bonds within molecules like P4O10.
2) Biology
Based on diverse feedback and a comprehensive analysis conducted by our experts, the difficulty level of the CUET Biology paper can be categorized as ranging from easy to moderately challenging. Students expressed satisfaction with the predominance of straightforward questions aligned with content from the NCERT book.
