CSIR UGC NET December 2025 Registration Begins

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the application window for the CSIR UGC NET December 2025 examination. Candidates aiming for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professorship, or PhD admissions in science disciplines can now register online through the official portal — csirnet.nta.nic.in.

The last date to submit the online application form is October 24, 2025, while the deadline to pay the exam fee is October 25, 2025. NTA has also announced that candidates will be allowed to make corrections in their forms until October 29, 2025.

The CSIR UGC NET December 2025 admit card and city intimation slip will be released shortly before the exam. The test will be held in two shifts on the same day, with a duration of 180 minutes each.

About the CSIR UGC NET

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (CSIR UGC NET) is conducted twice annually to assess the eligibility of Indian nationals for JRF, Assistant Professor roles, and PhD admissions. The exam covers a wide range of subjects in science, engineering, and technology, including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, and Earth Sciences.

CSIR UGC NET December 2025 Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must have a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories).
  • Candidates in the final year of postgraduate study are also eligible to apply.
  • For JRF, the upper age limit is 30 years. However, there is no age limit for Assistant Professorship or PhD admissions.

How to Apply for CSIR UGC NET December 2025
  • Visit the official website — csirnet.nta.nic.in
  • Click on “New Registration” and carefully read the instructions
  • Fill in personal and contact details, create a password, and select a security question
  • Log in to complete the CSIR UGC NET application form
  • Enter academic qualifications, subject preference, and exam centre choices
  • Upload scanned documents, including a photograph and signature
  • Pay the application fee via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI
  • Save and print the confirmation page for records

NTA has clarified that each candidate can apply for only one subject as per the Information Bulletin. Multiple applications from the same candidate will result in cancellation.
