YEAR EVENTS
1986 - Central Roadlines Corporation Limited was incorporated on
19th June, as a private limited company and was converted into
a
public limited company on 21st February, 1994. The main
object
of the company is Transport Business.
- M/s. Central Roadlines Corporation a partnership firm involved
in
similar work was taken over by the company under an agreement
dated 1st April 1993. It was promoted by Ghanshamdas
Radhamohan
Agarwal. The company operates through a branch network
consisting of 36 branches at all the important industrial
cities,
metro cities and port towns of India equipped with modern
infrastructural facilities such as telecommunication, telex,
fax
supported by a fleet of specially designed vehicles and
trailers
of various capacities capable of carrying smallest package of
50
kg. as well as heavy equipment of 150 tonnes.
- In the field of heavy project transportation, various allied
activities such as jelly construction, identification of
routes
and different modes of transportation and construction of by
pass
near bridges are some of activities of the company.
- The company undertook to expand its transportation fleet by
importing 24 nos. hydraulic axles and two nos. Prime moves
from
Germany, besides adding ten numbers Indian made hippos with
toolleys.
1994 - 16,02,500 No. of equity shares of Rs. 10 each issued to
promoters, directors etc. 13,98,000 No. of equity shares were
issued at a premium of Rs. 20 per share on 14th November of
which
6,13,000 shares issued to promoters, directors and their
friends
on a firm basis. Of the balance, 35,000 shares were issued
for
allotment on a preferential basis to employees (only 31,600
shares taken up). Remaining 7,50,000 shares along with 3,400
shares not taken up by employees' were issued to the public
(all
were taken up).
1997 - 30,00,500 rights equity shares of Rs 10 each (prem. Rs 30)
issued. 13%-1,50,000 redeemable pref. shares allotted on
private
placement basis.
- The company's scrip is currently being quoted around Rs. 32
while the offer price is Rs. 40. The post-rights equity will
be
Rs. 6 crore. The issue which opened on December 22, closes
on
January 7, 1998.
1998 - The Company also allotted on 21/02/98 and issued 13%
Redeemable
Cumulative Preference Shares of Rs. 100/- each aggregating
Rs.
1,50,00,000/- on private placement basis.
- Due to slow-down of the Industrial/Infrastructural development
in
the country, performance of the Company during the year has
not
been as expected in comparison to the previous year.
- During the year, the Company has increased the fleet strength
and
set up other supportive facilities in anticipation of
industrial
and infrastructural development.
- During the year, the economic liberalisation programme had a
setback due to political uncertainties whereby many core
sector
projects did not take off as expected resulting in slow-down
in
the Industrial/Infrastructural development.
1999 - Due to continued slackness in the industrial growth and
postponement of several core sector projects, the Company has
witnessed fall in its turnover during the year.
