In a special update for Holi, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that metro services will begin later than usual on Wednesday, March 4. According to an official post shared by DMRC on X, metro trains will start operating from 2.30 pm from all terminal stations on every line.
The revised timing has been introduced to allow both passengers and metro staff to celebrate Holi safely. After services begin at 2.30 pm, trains will run as per the normal daily schedule for the rest of the evening.
The change will apply to all metro lines, including the Airport Express Line. On regular days, Delhi Metro services operate from 5.00 am to 11.30 pm IST.
Officials have advised passengers to plan their travel in advance and check the latest updates before leaving for metro stations. The temporary change is aimed at ensuring smooth operations while taking into account the festive atmosphere during the morning hours.
Holi is celebrated with great enthusiasm across Delhi and other parts of the country. Many people take leave from work and school to take part in the celebrations. The delayed start will help maintain safety and convenience on the festival day.
