A 59-year-old entrepreneur and owner of a well-known bakery in Solapur died by suicide after jumping from the 17th floor of a residential building on Vijaypur Road in Maharashtra.

The deceased was identified as Sunil Motilal Sadarangani, proprietor of the iconic Multani Bakery.

A video that later circulated on social media showed Sadarangani standing on the rooftop with folded hands before the incident.

According to an NDTV report, he reached Panash Apartments in the afternoon and chose to take the stairs instead of the elevator, heading straight to the top floor.

Residents noticed him on the rooftop, appearing distressed, and alerted the building’s security guard. The guard reportedly reached the spot in time and managed to bring him down from the ledge after speaking to him.

However, Sadarangani then told the guard that he had left his keys upstairs. When he went back to retrieve them, he returned to the 17th floor and jumped.

He died on the spot due to the impact. Police from the nearby station arrived soon after being informed, recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem examination at a government hospital.

A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
