At least three schools in Delhi received bomb threats on Friday, prompting authorities from the Delhi Police to quickly evacuate students, teachers and other staff from these institutions. This is the second such incident in the national capital in a week.
Teams were dispatched to the affected locations to carry out security checks.
BD Tamil Education School in Jhandewalan received the first call at 9:13am, said an official from the Delhi Fire Service (DFS).
While investigation is underway, police have urged students, staff, and parents to remain calm while security procedures are carried out.
The incident comes four days after at least nine schools in the national capital received bomb threats on Monday, with emails claiming, "Delhi will become Khalistan. Punjab is Khalistan. In memory of Afzal Guru."
The email also alleged that the Parliament building will be targeted at 1:11pm on February 13.
According to the Delhi Fire Services (DFS), emergency calls were received from multiple educational institutions on Monday morning, following which fire tenders and bomb disposal teams were rushed to the locations.
Soon after the hoax bomb threat on Monday, at least 10 schools in Punjab's Chandigarh and Mohali received bomb threat calls on Tuesday, triggering tight security checks and the suspension of classes. School authorities sent messages to parents announcing a holiday.
