A 22-year-old migrant woman allegedly died by suicide following a dispute with her husband over a mobile phone in Gujarat’s Aravalli district, according to NDTV.

The woman, identified as Urmila Khanan Rijan, was a native of Nepal and had been living in Modasa with her husband and their young child. The couple earned their livelihood by running a small Chinese food stall in the area.

Police said Urmila had been asking her husband to buy her a new mobile phone. However, repeated refusals due to financial constraints reportedly led to a heated argument between the two.

Following the dispute, Urmila allegedly took the extreme step and was found hanging at their residence near Bhavanpur. Local residents alerted the authorities after learning about the incident.

A team from the Modasa Police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem examination. Officials said a case of accidental death has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
