TVS Motor Company has forayed into the adventure touring motorcycle segment with the launch of the Apache RTX 300. The new model has been introduced at Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom, introductory).
The Apache RTX 300 is powered by a 299.1 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that produces 36PS of maximum power at 9,000rpm and 28.5Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring an assist and slipper clutch. The motorcycle is equipped with ride-by-wire technology and a bi-directional quickshifter.
TVS says the new RT-XD4 platform, on which the Apache RTX 300 is based, has been fully developed in-house, drawing from the company's experience in racing and rallying. The engine architecture includes dual overhead cams, dual oil pumps, a dual cooling jacket cylinder head, and a dual breather system.
The motorcycle offers four riding modes -- Urban, Rain, Tour, and Rally -- that alter throttle response, ABS intervention and traction control levels. A 5-inch TFT screen provides Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation with map mirroring, cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring, and adjustable levers.
The Apache RTX 300 gets a steel trellis frame with long-travel suspension from WP, an inverted cartridge fork at the front and a mono-tube floating piston shock absorber at the rear. TVS says the frame and suspension combination is tuned to deliver a balance between on-road comfort and off-road stability.
The design includes a single-piece integrated headlamp and tank structure with a rally-inspired stance. It features a Class-D headlamp with dynamic DRLs. The bike is available in five colours -- Viper Green, Metallic Blue, Pearl White, Lightning Black, and Tarn Bronze -- with red accents.
The RTX 300 supports a wide range of optional accessories such as a raised front beak, bash plate, knuckle guards, luggage mounting brackets, USB charger, and a modular system for panniers and top box using GIVI Monolock mounts.
The Apache RTX 300 is offered in three variants.
All prices are introductory and ex-showroom.
