The new Maruti Suzuki Victoris has scored a 5-star safety rating at Bharat NCAP.
Maruti Suzuki India will launch its new mid-size SUV, the Victoris, today. It will be the second mid-size SUV in the carmaker's portfolio after the Grand Vitara. The USP of the Victoris is that it comes with a host of first-time features in any Maruti car, right from Level-2 ADAS to Dolby Atmos and underbody CNG tank. Moreover, it will be sold from the company's Arena dealerships, which also offers the popular Brezza. Other Maruti SUVs, including the Grand Vitara, Jimny and Fronx, are retailed from Nexa dealerships.

We expect the
Victoris price to start under Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom) and reach Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec variant, considering there will be Level-2 ADAS. You can book the new SUV for a token amount of Rs 11,000.

From the outside, the Victoris looks sharp and modern. It has a wraparound design that gives it a bold stance, with LED projector headlamps up front and connected LED tail lamps at the rear. The SUV also gets a panoramic sunroof, which makes the cabin feel airy. Alloy wheels with an aero-cut design add to its stylish look. Two new colour options, Mystic Green and Eternal Blue, have been introduced, along with multiple dual-tone and monotone shades.

Step inside, and the Victoris feels quite premium. The dashboard has a wide, layered layout with a black and ivory dual-tone finish, piano black accents, and textured seat upholstery. You also get a panoramic sunroof that makes the cabin feel more spacious. The 64-colour ambient lighting lets you change the mood inside the car, while features like ventilated front seats, an 8-way powered driver's seat, and a wireless charger with cooling fan make it more convenient.

This SUV is loaded with tech. The 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster can be customised, and the 10.1-inch SmartPlay Pro X touchscreen supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There is also Alexa voice control, in-built apps with OTA updates, and Suzuki Connect telematics offering over 60 connected features. The highlight is the Infinity audio system by Harman with Dolby Atmos, eight speakers, including a subwoofer for a 'theatre on wheels' effect, as claimed by Maruti. Level-2 ADAS with features like lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and rear cross-traffic alert. Six airbags, disc brakes all around, a 360-degree camera, and an electronic stability program are standard across variants.

Under the hood, the Victoris comes with multiple powertrain choices.
- 1.5-litre petrol: 103PS power, 139Nm torque, with 5-speed MT and 6-speed AT options.

- 1.5-litre strong hybrid: Pairs with an e-CVT gearbox, makes a combined 116PS and 141Nm.
- ALLGRIP Select (4x4): Available with a 6-speed AT mated to 1.5-litre petrol, gets terrain modes like Auto, Snow, Sport, and Lock, plus hill descent control.
- CNG version: Comes with a segment-first underbody CNG tank, freeing up boot space. The 88PS and 121Nm unit is mated to a 5-speed MT.
The SUV is 4,360mm long, 1,795mm wide, and 1,655mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. It runs on 17-inch wheels and has a 45-litre petrol tank or a 55-litre CNG tank, depending on the variant.
Maruti Suzuki Victoris Mileage
The Victoris offers different mileage figures depending on the variant. The standard petrol version delivers around 21.18kmpl with the manual gearbox and about 21.06kmpl with the automatic, while the AWD automatic option returns a lower 19.07kmpl. However, it is the strong hybrid variant that stands out with a claimed 28.65kmpl, making it the most fuel-efficient in the line-up. For those opting for CNG, the Victoris provides around 27.02kmpkg.
