The Maruti Suzuki Dzire is the largest-selling sedan in India.

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire sedan has outpaced every other passenger car in India, becoming the country's highest-selling model in July 2025. This achievement comes at a time when SUVs like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Creta, Tata Nexon, and Mahindra Scorpio continue to dominate headlines and drive growth.

In July 2025, Maruti managed to sell 20,895 units of the Dzire, a figure that stands out even for a model that has consistently performed well over the years. While the Dzire has regularly ranked among India's most popular cars, crossing the 20,000-unit mark in a single month remains a significant accomplishment.

To put these numbers in perspective, the Dzire posted sales of 16,996 units in April, 18,084 units in May, and 15,484 units in June.

Priced between Rs 6.84 lakh and Rs 10.19 lakh (ex-showroom), the Maruti Suzuki Dzire faces off against competitors such as the Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura, and Tata Tigor in the compact sedan segment.

On the exterior, the Dzire comes with a redesigned front grille, sharp LED Crystal Vision headlamps with integrated DRLs, and updated LED taillamps. New 15-inch alloy wheels, a shark fin antenna, and a subtle boot lid spoiler add to its refreshed look.

The interior sports a dual-tone dashboard with a wooden-finish accent. Equipment levels have been boosted, offering features like a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Arkamys surround sound, a 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, cruise control, an electric sunroof, rear AC vents, a rear armrest, and Suzuki Connect telematics.

Built on Maruti's fifth-generation Heartect platform, the Dzire incorporates 45% high-tensile steel in its structure. Standard safety features include six airbags, electronic stability program, hill hold assist, ABS with EBD, brake assist, three-point seatbelts for all occupants, Isofix mounts, and a rear defogger. Notably, the Dzire is Maruti's first car to achieve a five-star safety rating in both Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP crash assessments.

Under the hood, the Dzire is powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine (Z12E) delivering 81.58PS and 111.7Nm, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. There's also a CNG variant producing 69.75PS and 101.8Nm, available with a manual transmission.

In terms of fuel efficiency, Maruti claims the Dzire returns 24.79kmpl with the petrol manual, 25.71kmpl with the petrol AMT, and 33.73kmpkg with the CNG manual.
