BMW Group India today announced the appointment of Hardeep Singh Brar as its President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He will assume charge from September 1.
Brar succeeds Vikram Pawah, who is taking charge as CEO of BMW Group Australia and New Zealand.
With over 30 years of experience in the Indian automotive industry, Brar was Kia India’s Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing, in his last role.
Prior to his Kia stint, Brar held important positions at companies like Maruti Suzuki India, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, General Motors, Nissan Motor and Great Wall Motor Company.
He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Punjab. He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School’s Senior Executive Leadership Program.

Pawah has been with the BMW Group since 2017, leading the company’s operations in both India (2017-2018 and 2020-2025) as well as Australia (2018-2020).
