Battery Smart, India's largest battery-swapping network for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers, today said that it has completed more than 95 million battery swaps across its network, powering over 3.2 billion emission-free kilometres for the users.
The company shared the updated figures as part of its latest impact disclosures, underscoring the scale at which swapping-led electrification is growing in India's commercial mobility segment.
Battery Smart operates over 1,600 swap stations across more than 50 cities and works with a network of 90,000 drivers. The company has deployed more than 2,70,000 IoT-enabled batteries across its platform, enabling a dense, partner-led infrastructure model that allows electric vehicle (EV) users to swap discharged batteries.
The company said the rising swap volumes have led to measurable environmental gains. Cumulative operations have helped avoid more than 2,23,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO₂e) emissions, alongside reductions in pollutants such as nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon monoxide (CO) and particulate matter in high-traffic urban areas. The numbers were part of a broader update included in its latest impact report, titled 'Redefining Mobility, One EV at a Time'.
Battery Smart noted that the economic impact on driver-partners has also been significant. Drivers using the swapping network have earned more than Rs 2,800 crore in cumulative income. The company said that swapping saves drivers an average of 130 minutes per day compared to conventional charging, contributing to an increase of over Rs 3,000 in monthly earnings. The platform also includes more than 5,000 women drivers and over 250 women franchise partners. Local partners operating swap stations have collectively earned over Rs 130 crore.
The company's technology stack centres on IoT-enabled batteries that support tracking, predictive maintenance and safety management. This, alongside a circular economy roadmap, forms the backbone of its scaling strategy.
Commenting on the progress, Battery Smart Co-founder and CEO Pulkit Khurana said: "This report captures the journey of Battery Smart and the ecosystem we have built together with our drivers, partners, and stakeholders in shaping India's EV landscape. What began as an uncharted territory has evolved into a scalable, technology-led solution that makes electric mobility affordable, accessible and inclusive. This report marks an important milestone as we expand into new markets, deepen our impact, and continue contributing meaningfully to India's net-zero ambitions."
