Renault has unveiled the all-new 2026 Renault Duster in India, marking the return of the mid-size SUV after its discontinuation in 2022. Built on the Renault Group's new modular platform, the model is claimed to be around 90% India-specific, with a focus on ride comfort, durability, and local driving conditions.

Pre-bookings for the 2026 Renault Duster opened today through Renault's R-pass platform with a token amount of Rs 21,000. Customers who pre-book will be eligible for priority delivery. Renault said prices for the SUV will be announced in mid-March 2026. The company has also introduced a Renault Forever warranty package, offering coverage of up to seven years or 1.50 lakh kilometres.

We expect the 2026 Renault Triber price in India to start at around Rs 9.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).

Renault said the new Duster has been tested on motorable and non-motorable roads across three continents to validate ride and handling performance. The SUV offers a ground clearance of 212mm, positioning it as a capable option in the competitive mid-size SUV segment in India.

The 2026 Renault Duster will be offered with multiple powertrain options. The Turbo TCe 160 variant produces 163PS and 280Nm and is paired with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission featuring a wet clutch and e-shifter. A Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160 version uses a 1.8-litre GDI dedicated hybrid engine with an eight-speed DHT and two electric motors, supported by a 1.4kWh battery. Renault claims the hybrid can operate in pure electric mode for up to 80% of city driving. The line-up will also include a Turbo TCe 100 petrol variant.

The deliveries of turbo-petrol variants are scheduled to begin in mid-April, while deliveries of the hybrid variants are expected to commence around Diwali 2026.

In terms of design and features, the new Renault Duster gets LED headlamps, connected LED taillamps, and a bold front grille with the DUSTER lettering prominently displayed. Interior highlights include a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated seats, and integrated digital screens for the touchscreen infotainment system and instrument cluster. The SUV features physical buttons for key controls and an in-built Google system for connected services.

Safety and technology upgrades include Level-2 ADAS with 17 driver assistance features, a 360-degree view camera, and an electric-powered tailgate. Renault claimed a segment-best boot capacity of up to 700 litres measured to the roof for the new Duster.

The 2026 Renault Duster will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Mahindra Thar Roxx, Tata Curvv, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and MG Astor.
