Volvo Car India will launch the new Volvo XC60 in the country on August 1. With over 27,00,000 units sold globally, the XC60 is the Swedish company's quintessential volume driver.
Volvo currently offers four models in India -- EX40 (electric), EC40 (electric), XC60 (mild hybrid) and XC90 (mild hybrid).
The new XC60 will come with subtle exterior updates, like a new grille, fresh air intakes, redesigned bumpers and a new set of alloy wheels.
However, the major updates will be inside the cabin with a larger 11.2-inch, free-standing central touchscreen replacing the 9-inch centre display of the outgoing model. In its fresh avatar, the car will boast the next-generation Snapdragon Cockpit Platform from Qualcomm Technologies.
The cabin will get fresh upholstery with new interior decor and inlays. Volvo will also add new air purification technology. The SUV will continue to use the Bowers & Wilkins High Fidelity audio system.
Under the hood will be the same 2.0-litre twin-turbo petrol engine, delivering 250 hp of maximum power and 360 Nm of peak torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission will send power to all four wheels. The 0-100 kmph acceleration time will be the same at 6.9 seconds, with the top speed being 180 kmph.
While the Volvo XC60 price in India is currently Rs 70,75,000 (ex-showroom), we expect the price to move northwards for the 2025 version.
The new Volvo XC60 will rival the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW X3 and Audi Q5.
