The country's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India, today launched the Grand Vitara CNG at a starting price of Rs 13.48 lakh (ex-showroom). The CNG version of the SUV now gets six airbags as standard.
The Grand Vitara CNG employs the K-series, 1.5-litre, Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine, which develops 87.8 PS of maximum power and 121.5 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission (MT). The Grand Vitara CNG mileage is claimed to be 26.6 kmpkg.
Maruti has introduced the Grand Vitara CNG in two variants -- Delta and Zeta. Following are their prices (ex-showroom).
Grand Vitara CNG Delta - Rs 13.48 lakh
Grand Vitara CNG Zeta - Rs 15.62 lakh
In comparison to the previous version, the 2025 Grand Vitara CNG Delta has received a price hike of Rs 23,000 and the 2025 Grand Vitara CNG Zeta of Rs 41,000.
The price hike is mainly due to the addition of features like six airbags, Clarion premium sound system, wireless charging dock, ventilated front seats, rear door sunshades, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), auto purify with PM 2.5 display and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Additionally, the Grand Vitara CNG boasts features like a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, rear view camera, automatic climate control, keyless entry with engine push start/stop button and Suzuki Connect.
So far as safety features are concerned, the SUV is equipped with electronic stability program+ (ESP), hill hold assist, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), front and rear disc brakes and ISOFIX child seat restraint system.
Apart from CNG, the Grand Vitara is available with pure-petrol and hybrid powertrain options. Select variants of the SUV also come with ALLGRIP Select 4x4 technology.
The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara rivals the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Tata Curvv, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and MG Astor.
