U.S. President Donald Trump attracted attention at the Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, on Monday when he complimented Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s appearance.
Speaking to the assembled leaders, Trump said:
“We have a woman, a young woman who’s… I’m not allowed to say it because usually it’s the end of your political career if you say it: she’s a beautiful young woman!”
🇺🇸 TRUMP: “THERE WON'T BE WORLD WAR III”"I've read it many times that World War III will begin in the Middle East.
That's not going to happen.
There won't be World War III, hopefully at all.
But it's not going to start in the Middle East.

As Meloni stood behind him, Trump added:
“Where is she? There she is! You don’t mind being called beautiful, right? Because you are.”
He also praised her political achievements, saying:
“She wanted to be here and she's incredible and they really respect her in Italy. She's a very successful, very successful politician.”
The summit convened world leaders to discuss the Middle East’s future following the Trump-brokered Gaza peace deal, which led to the release of all remaining Israeli hostages on Monday morning and is expected to prompt Israel to begin a phased military withdrawal from Gaza.
The peace process follows two years of devastating conflict in Gaza, with the Gaza health ministry reporting around 68,000 deaths, mostly women and children.
Trump’s remarks about Meloni’s appearance echo past controversies. In 2017, he faced criticism for highlighting a female Irish reporter in what critics described as a “creepy” moment, according to Newsbreak.
