On Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 75th birthday, the Russian President Vladimir Putin called him to extend his birthday wishes. PM Modi shared on X that he received a call from Putin with the Russian President extending his warm wishes to him.

Thanking Putin for his wishes, PM Modi said that India is committed to further strengthening the special and privileged strategic partnership with Russia.

He also said that India is ready to make all possible contributions towards a peaceful resolution of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

"Thank you, my friend, President Putin, for your phone call and warm wishes on my 75th birthday. We are committed to further strengthening our Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership. India is ready to make all possible contributions towards a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict," PM Modi wrote on X.

Putin's call comes after it was reported earlier in the day that he conveyed birthday greetings to PM Modi on the occasion of his 75th birthday, applauding his “enormous personal contribution” in advancing ties between Moscow and New Delhi.

In a message posted on the Kremlin website, Putin said, "Dear Mr. Prime Minister, please accept my heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of your 75th birthday." He commended Modi for his efforts in “strengthening the special privileged strategic partnership between our countries” and fostering “mutually beneficial Russian-Indian cooperation in various areas.”

The Russian leader further noted, "Through your activities as head of government, you have earned the high respect of your compatriots and enormous authority on the world stage." He also acknowledged India’s “impressive achievements in the social, economic, scientific and technical fields” under Modi’s leadership.

The greetings from Moscow came alongside messages from other global leaders, including US President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
