Paramount Skydance Corp. said board member Dennis Cinelli will become chief financial officer, appointing a permanent executive to the position as it continues to fight for control of Warner Bros. Discovery Inc.
Cinelli, who has previous experience at Uber Technologies Inc. and at Scale AI, replaces interim CFO Andrew Warren, Paramount said in a statement on Wednesday. Cinelli will leave Paramount’s board, while Warren will continue to be involved with the company as a strategic adviser.
Paramount is in the midst of a heated takeover battle for Warner Bros., competing with Netflix Inc. for one of Hollywood’s most iconic companies. Paramount’s $30-a-share offer for Warner Bros. has been repeatedly rebuffed and it has launched a proxy fight to nominate directors to the studio’s board.
Paramount also said it has appointed Andrew Campion, currently chairman and chief executive officer of Unrivaled Sports, as an independent director.
Shares of Paramount were little changed in extended trading after the announcement.
