Popstar Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appear to have confirmed months of dating rumours after being spotted kissing on a yacht in Santa Barbara, California. The viral photos circulating online show the duo enjoying a sunny afternoon together, marking what seems to be their first public display of affection.

The pictures show Perry  kissing Trudeau, with other images capturing them laughing, hugging, and relaxing on deck. Their outing appears to quash earlier reports that the two had grown distant following intense media scrutiny over their dinner date in Montreal earlier this year.

A witness told The Daily Mail, “She pulled up her boat next to a small whale-watching boat, then they started making out. I didn’t realise who she was with until I saw the tattoo on the guy’s arm, that’s when I realised it was Justin Trudeau.”

The pair first made headlines in July 2025 after being spotted dining together in Montreal. Trudeau later attended Perry’s sold-out Lifetimes tour concert in Canada, fuelling speculation about their relationship.

Perry recently ended her seven-year relationship and six-year engagement with actor Orlando Bloom in June 2025. The two share a daughter, Daisy Dove, born in 2020. Trudeau, meanwhile, announced his separation from wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage; they have three children together.
