As US President Donald Trump's push to acquire Greenland continues to rattle Denmark and its autonomous territory, a video has surfaced on social media where an Iranian official could be seen mocking Trump over his acquisition interest.
The video purportedly shows Iranian police chief Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Radan making an offer to the EU during a public appearance, referencing Trump's past push to buy the Danish territory for Arctic security.
"Trump first threatened the European Union and then begged them. Today he said if you don't come, we'll take over Greenland. I want to tell the European Union, if you can't keep your Greenland, just ask us and we'll come to protect it," Radan could be heard saying in the video in his native language.

The remark surfaced as the US-Iran conflict continues to rage, with Iran cutting transit through the Strait of Hormuz after US and Israeli strikes killed its Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on February 28.
In an escalation of war, Trump on Sunday said, "If Iran doesn’t FULLY OPEN, WITHOUT THREAT, the Strait of Hormuz, within 48 HOURS from this exact point in time, the United States of America will hit and obliterate their various POWER PLANTS, STARTING WITH THE BIGGEST ONE FIRST!”
Replying to Trump's threat, Iran stated, "“Following previous warnings, if Iran’s fuel and energy infrastructure is violated by the enemy, all energy, information technology and desalination infrastructure belonging to the US and the regime in the region will be targeted."
