The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it carried out a large-scale airstrike operation in Tehran, targeting sites connected to Iran’s nuclear weapons program.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the IDF said the strikes focused on key locations “related to the Iranian regime’s nuclear weapons project.”
According to the statement, the targets included the Iranian Ministry of Defense headquarters, the headquarters of the SPND nuclear project (believed to oversee nuclear weapons development), and other facilities involved in Iran's alleged pursuit of nuclear weapons capabilities. The IDF also claimed that one of the sites hit was where Iran had hidden its “nuclear archive.”

“These strikes were aimed at weakening Iran’s ability to advance its nuclear weapons efforts,” the IDF stated. It did not specify the scale of damage or the number of casualties, if any.
Amid the continued conflict, planned negotiations between Iran and the United States over Tehran’s nuclear program were canceled, throwing into question when and how an end to the fighting could come.
The Iranian government has not yet responded officially to the claims.
