US President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday for what he described as a “semi-annual physical" examination. The president said he feels “good," both physically and mentally, and added that he will meet the troops stationed at the facility.
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office ahead of the visit, Trump said, “I’m meeting with the troops and I’m also going to do a semi-annual physical."
The 79-year-old Republican leader emphasized that he is in “good shape.” “I think I’m in great shape, but I’ll let you know," he said in response to a reporter’s question.
“I’ve had no difficulty thus far. Is there wood around here? Knock on wood. No difficulty," Trump added, making a lighthearted comment.
Known for highlighting his personal health and energy, the president noted that he prefers getting checkups done ahead of schedule. “Physically, I feel very good; mentally, I feel very good… When I’m around, I like to check — always early. Always be early."

This marks Trump’s second visit to Walter Reed since returning to the White House in January. During his previous examination, tests included cognitive and cardiology evaluations, though details of this latest checkup remain unclear.
According to a memo from the president’s physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, Trump underwent his annual physical on April 11. The White House health report described the president as “fully fit to execute the duties" of his office and credited his frequent golf victories with contributing to his “excellent" physical and mental health.
As the oldest man to be inaugurated as US president, Trump’s health continues to draw public attention, particularly amid speculation about his fitness for possible future campaigns. His repeated comments about feeling “very good” underscore his desire to reassure the public of his ongoing vitality.
