‘Failed Democrat Parenting’: Joshua Jahn’s mother breaks down, old anti-gun posts go viral amid Dallas ICE shooting

Old post of ICE shooter Joshua Jahn's mother against guns goes viral

Joshua Jahn’s mother was “openly sobbing” during a press call regarding the deadly shooting at a Dallas ICE facility on Wednesday, in which her 29-year-old son fatally shot one person and injured two others before dying from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the Independent.

“I’m sorry, I can’t talk to you right now,” Sharon Jahn, his mother, told reporters. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. But I just can’t talk to you now.”

Jahn’s family includes his 65-year-old father, Andrew, a retired mechanical engineer; his mother, Sharon, who worked as an administrator of a massage school in Plano; a 26-year-old sister, Kioko; and a 30-year-old brother, Noah.

The FBI revealed that Jahn had written “ANTI-ICE” on an unused bullet found on a nearby rooftop. “While the investigation is ongoing, an initial review of the evidence shows an ideological motive behind this attack,” FBI Director Kash Patel wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Resurfaced Facebook posts show that Sharon Jahn had previously criticized Republican lawmakers over gun laws. “Governor Abbott, Senator Cornyn, and Senator Cruz, how does it make you feel that your action to open up gun laws is responsible for the killing of 21 more people?” she wrote on May 25, 2022.

Some MAGA activists, including Laura Loomer, criticized the family, claiming Joshua Jahn was influenced by his mother’s political views. “Ironic since her son used a gun to try to assassinate ICE agents and then blew his own brains out. Just another example of FAILED Democrat parenting. Joshua Jahn is a radical Leftist with a Democrat mother who spews her hatred on social media,” Loomer posted.

Law enforcement confirmed that Joshua Jahn was a registered Independent and, according to his brother, was not politically engaged. The motive behind the attack remains under investigation.
