An earthquake, measuring 4.0 on Richter Scale, hit Pakistan at 1:44 am (IST) on Saturday, according to National Centre For Seismology (NCS).

No damage or loss of lives were reported in the earthquake.

On Monday, a 4.2-magnitude had struck Pakistan while another earthquake of the same magnitude hit Afghanistan the same day.

Last Saturday, an earthquake of magnitude 4.3 rocked Afghanistan. A day before, the country was hit by an earthquake of magnitude 4.5.

Shallow earthquakes tend to be more dangerous because their energy is released closer to the Earth's surface, resulting in more intense ground shaking.
