Dreaming of sipping cocktails by the Caribbean Sea or wandering through rainforests where volcanic peaks meet sugar-soft sands? Saint Kitts and Nevis just made that dream easier to reach.

As of May 26, 2025, this stunning twin-island nation has officially introduced a new Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) system, redefining how visa-exempt travellers arrive. With this bold move, Saint Kitts and Nevis becomes the first CARICOM nation to digitize pre-arrival procedures for visa-free visitors—setting a new gold standard in Caribbean travel.

A Smarter Way to Enter Paradise

Gone are the days of last-minute paperwork or long immigration lines. The new eTA system ensures a seamless, secure, and swift arrival process for globetrotters flying in from around the world.

Whether you’re planning a honeymoon, a beach escape, or just need a digital detox surrounded by natural beauty, the eTA guarantees a modern, hassle-free welcome.

Who Needs an eTA?

Most travelers from visa-exempt countries—including India, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, EU nations, Australia, and over 100 others—will need to secure an eTA before departure.

You don’t need an eTA if you are:

  • A citizen or resident of Saint Kitts and Nevis
  • A national of an OECS or CARICOM member state
  • An accredited diplomat on official duty
  • A child under 2 years of age
  • A transit passenger, airline or vessel crew on duty, or military/search-and-rescue personnel

How to Apply for Your eTA: Fast, Digital, and Multilingual

Applying for the eTA is refreshingly easy—no embassy visits, no printouts:

Option 1: Mobile App (Best Experience)

  • Download the St Kitts and Nevis e-Border app (iOS & Android)
  • Complete your application in under five minutes
  • Use the app to qualify for Fast-Track Facial Biometric Entry from June 2, 2025

Option 2: Online Portal

  • Visit www.knatravelform.kn
  • Upload your documents, fill in your travel info, and pay the introductory fee of $8.50 (in effect until Sept 1, 2025; then $17).
  • Once approved, your eTA is valid for 90 days or until your passport expires.

And if you apply through the app, you’ll qualify for Facial Biometric Fast-Track Entry from June 2, 2025—breezing through immigration like a VIP.

Why This Matters for Travelers

Saint Kitts and Nevis isn’t just embracing digital convenience—it’s raising the bar for smart, traveler-first border policies. Here’s why the new system is a win-win:

  • Fast-Track Immigration: Facial biometric corridors eliminate queues
  • Fewer Forms, More Fun: Forget repetitive paperwork
  • Safety Meets Simplicity: Stronger pre-arrival checks with minimal disruption
  • Customs on Autopilot: Future integration includes e-customs, eSIM purchases, and more

A Gateway to Rich Culture and Untamed Beauty

From the cobbled streets of Basseterre to the lush trails of Mount Liamuiga, Saint Kitts and Nevis is a tropical treasure for both beach lovers and adventure seekers. Whether you’re snorkeling in turquoise waters, exploring plantation ruins, or enjoying Creole cuisine at a beachside shack—entry to this Caribbean paradise is now smoother than ever.

For Citizens and Regional Neighbors

Residents of Saint Kitts and Nevis, OECS, and CARICOM states don’t need an eTA, but they must still fill out the free Electronic Immigration and Customs Declaration Form—available on the e-Border app or the official travel portal.
