Tourists from across the country are flocking to Kufri Hills, where the snowfall of January 6, 2025, has transformed the region into a breathtaking winter wonderland. A pristine blanket of white now covers the serene hills, creating a dreamy landscape that draws both nature lovers and adventure seekers.

Visitors can indulge in a range of winter activities, from skiing down snow-clad slopes to exhilarating snow treks and sledging adventures. The crunch of snow underfoot, the crisp mountain air, and the enchanting views of frost-laden trees make Kufri a must-visit destination for winter enthusiasts. Beyond the thrills, the tranquil beauty of the hills offers a perfect escape for those looking to soak in the peaceful charm of the Himalayas.

The mercury has plunged by 4 to 7 degrees Celsius, with icy winds adding to the region's allure. Despite a pale winter sun, the chill remains persistent, enhancing the season's wintry magic. Alongside Kufri, other parts of Himachal Pradesh have also witnessed significant weather changes.

Kufri recorded 5 cm of fresh snowfall, Gondla in Lahaul Spiti received 4 mm, and Keylong saw 1 cm of snow. Additionally, rainfall in areas like Pandoh (22 mm), Gohar, Banjar, and Karsog has added to the seasonal charm, while Shimla experienced light showers under an overcast sky.

However, this scenic snowfall has also brought challenges. Snow-covered roads have disrupted daily life, delaying agricultural activities and causing logistical hurdles for local businesses. Tourists, mesmerized by the enchanting views, have had to contend with limited mobility and biting cold conditions.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘yellow’ warning for dense fog in districts like Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, and Mandi on January 7 and 8, advising travelers to exercise caution. Adding to the unpredictability, a fresh western disturbance is expected to bring more rain and snowfall to the mid and higher hills on January 10 and 11.

Despite these challenges, Kufri and its neighboring regions offer an unparalleled winter experience. For those planning a visit, this snow-draped paradise promises unforgettable adventures, serene landscapes, and the tranquil charm of the Himalayan winter. Whether you’re a thrill-seeker or someone who simply wishes to bask in the beauty of nature, Kufri is calling—and it’s a call you don’t want to miss.
